That feeling when…

…all those hours spent watching “Art Attack” pay off!

Okay, it’s not the most perfect repair job in the world but I’m still giddy over it anyway because I’ve not done anything g of the sort in over a decade.

Llew broke the roof of his train station. So here’s what I did:


Cut up and layered several pieces of corrugated board and put on two layers of papier-mâché.


Angled the roof to fit the structure. That’s the broken piece of plastic roofing right there. Added two layers of papier-mâché.


Painted it with two coats of acrylic paint when it was completely dry.


Done.

It’s obviously a lot thicker than the original roof: I am hoping this means if my son drops this roof first, it will protect the rest of the station. If it doesn’t…well, I tried.
